Dr. Spangenburg's laboratory focuses on the cellular signaling mechanisms that various hormones and growth factors utilize to alter gene expression. The lab utilizes an integrative approach to address these questions, which includes the use of cell culture, animal models and human studies. Ultimately, the goal of the laboratory is to understand how physical activity and various hormones/growth factors interact to enhance human function.
