We are starting a pilot study on quality of life among Asian American breast cancer survivors. Preliminary findings from a in-depth interviews have suggested the needs to develop a culturally appropriate program for these women.
This research project, which is funded by the NCI, aims to build a sustainable, liver cancer prevention program that is conducted by lay health workers (LHWs) in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area. The programs have been developed to be culturally and linguistically tailored to Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese Americans.
An NCI-funded randomized community trial that delivered culturally appropriate intervention programs to Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese communities in Maryland. Educational materials are free to download.
