Jessica is currently working as the Government Relations Manager for the American Heart Association in Washington, D.C.
When not working, Jessica lives in Arlington with her husband and 3 dogs. She plays soccer and basketball recreationally, travels home to Minnesota to swoon over her niece and nephew frequently, and never misses and episode of West Wing.

Gabby is an MPH student in Epidemiology. She was born in Argentina, and came to the US in 2002. After graduating from Montgomery College in Rockville, MD she went on to get her BA in Psychology at Smith College in Massachusetts. She is interested in the use of Geographic Information Systems in Epidemiology and Disease surveillance.

Since graduating, Julia spent two years working for Westtat, a research organization, but has recently accepted a research position with RTI International, a large company dedicated to improving the human condition through cutting-edge study and analysis in health, drug discovery and development, the environment, education and training, economic and social development, advanced technology, and international development. RTI has five international offices, 8 regional offices in the U.S. and is headquartered at Research triangle, North Carolina where Julia will be working.

Anissa Marzuki is a first year student in the EPI/BIOS program. Anissa went to undergrad here at Maryland and earned a B.S. in Cell Bio/Molecular Genetics in May 2007. She has been working full time for the Department of Resident Life here for the past two years, while trying to figure out what her next steps would be. After Maryland, I'm hoping to go to pharmacy school.

While still working as a research scientist for the US Department of Agriculture, Dick Miller began pursuing his M.A. one year after retirement. He is currently employed at the Cardiac Enhancement Center at Holy Cross Hospital. Dick teaches a course in circuit weight training to senior citizens through Prince Georges CC. He is also an avid runner and competes in many local races.

Naomi Kulp Mirowitz was a graduate assistant in the Public Health Informatics Research Laboratory. She is currently a MPH graduate in the Department of Public and Community Health. Naomi has worked at Educational Services, Inc. and Learning Systems Group where she participated in several contracts for the Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Projects included the National Child Welfare Resource Center for Family-Centered Practice, ACYF Discretionary Grant Review Management, 2004 Head Start and Early Head Start Directors Institute, and SBIR on Domestic Violence.

Blakely serves as Manager of Education and Technology Outreach to the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, Blakely provides strategic management and direction of SOPHEs continuing education offerings to professionals and coordinates SOPHEs communications/training outreach through electronic technologies. She has primary responsibility for coordinating training opportunities throughout the country through SOPHEs Nationwide Training Network for CDCynergy, an innovative, multi-media CD-ROM designed to guide and assist in the design & development of health communication interventions within a public health framework. Blakely is also an adjunct faculty member in our department where she uses her outstanding teaching skills to teach HLTH 420 (Methods & Materials in Health Education).
