On October 6th, 2008, Dr. Paul C. Turner, University of Leeds, United Kingdom. An estimated 25% of the worlds food supply is contaminated with mycotoxins.
There are many hundreds of known mycotoxins, though only a few are considered as important contributors to human disease. These include aflatoxins, fumonisins, and trichothecenes such as deoxynivalenol.
