This program focuses on health care policies and incorporating the analysis and evaluation of all policies that affect the public’s health, such as: policies related to public health organizations, education, housing, nutrition and environmental factors.

The Master of Public Health in Health Policy Analysis and Evaluation is an in-person professional degree that typically takes two years to complete and may be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. All MPH and MHA students take the same core integrated courses, and Health Policy Analysis and Evaluation students take cognate courses to supplement their research and career interests. Students are required to participate in a health policy-related internship during their program, and to carry out either a capstone project or thesis as a real-world application of material learned in class.
There are 45 total credits in the MPH in Health Policy Analysis and Evaluation curriculum.

Note: Elective courses in Module 2, Health Policy Analysis and Evaluation cognate area are selected by the student and approved by the advisor so that the MPH competencies are met. Students must take HLSA601 and choose 7 other electives.

* Students completing a thesis (6 credits) instead of a capstone project (3 credits) can select to take one less overview or methods or cognate area course to compensate for the 3 additional thesis credits.

Graduates of the MPH in Health Policy Analysis and Evaluation will be able to:
